UPDATE: The Santa Ana puppy case has moved into the courts.

A 75-year-old Anaheim woman has been formally charged with felony animal cruelty after prosecutors allege she deliberately ran over and killed her puppy, Blackey, with a minivan.

The suspect has posted $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court November 2.

Orange county prosecutors have charged 75 year old Han Min Nguyen of Anaheim with felony animal cruelty after authorities allege she deliberately ran over and killed her puppy, blackie. On September 8th, Santa Ana Police arrested Nguyen after investigators used automated license plate reader technology to trace the Honda Odyssey seen in surveillance footage. [00:00:28] Nguyen posted $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 2. The charges are allegations and Nguyen has not been convicted.
