Our first story takes us beyond Earth's atmosphere, where NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and SUNY Williams have now spent over 60 days in space aboard the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
Initially planned as a short duration mission, this journey has taken an unexpected turn with no clear return date in sight.
NASA has been grappling with unresolved propulsion issues on the Starliner, particularly concerning the thruster functionality and the integrity of Teflon seals affecting propellant flow.
These technical challenges have prompted NASA to consider alternative return options, including possibly bringing the astronauts back on SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft.
This shift marks a significant departure from the original mission plan, potentially extending will Wilmore and Williams stay on the International Space Station well into 2025?

Shifting from orbit to the edge of space Blue Origin has just announced the crew for its upcoming NS 26 mission.
This marks the company's 26th venture and its 8th involving human passengers.
Among the crew is Carson Kitchen, who is set to make headlines as the youngest woman ever to cross the Karman line, the internationally recognized boundary of space.
But that's not all. This mission will also feature the first NASA funded experiment conducted on a commercial space flight. Rob Farrell, a professor from the University of Florida, will study plant gene responses in microgravity using a device called the Kennedy Space center fixation tube.
This experiment could provide invaluable insights into how plants adapt to the unique stress conditions of space, with potential implications for future space exploration and even agriculture on Earth.
The crew is as diverse as it is accomplished, featuring individuals like Nicolana Elric, a helicopter pilot and philanthropist from Singapore Eugene Grin, a ukrainian american real estate mogul doctor Eamon Jhanda Heinger, a cardiologist with a passion for space exploration and Ephraim Rabin, an israeli american entrepreneur with a history of innovation in the chemical industry.
While Blue Origin has yet to announce the flight date, the space community is already buzzing with anticipation. Back on Earth California is making waves and sustainable transportation with the introduction of Metrolink's new zero emission hybrid trains in San Bernardino county.
These trains, powered by hydrogen fuel cells, represent a major step forward in the state's efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon footprints.
Developed by Switzerland based Staedtler, the train model, known as Flirt H two, has already made history by setting a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a hydrogen powered passenger train without refueling or recharging.
This achievement underscores the potential of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source for public transportation initially, the new trains will operate on a nine mile stretch between San Bernardino and Redlands, but there's significant potential for expansion. It is the premier pickleball convention that is taking place right now in Kansas City and opened on August 8 and ends August 11 at the Kansas City Convention center.
Organized by Triple Crown Sports, this inaugural event features over 100 courts, more than 60 vendors and a wealth of activities including tournaments, clinics and a unique glow in the dark tournament.
With an estimated economic impact of $3.9 million, Picklecon 2024 is expected to be a significant event for the community and pickleball enthusiasts alike. There's still time.
