On July 3, the Southwest United States witnessed an extraordinary event, the launch of Firefly Aerospace's Alpha rocket from California's Vandenberg Space Force base. This mission, known as noise of summer, demonstrated Firefly's commitment to accessible space exploration.

[00:04:26] Speaker B: Hey, welcome back to the STM Daily news podcast. And now let's welcome our special guest Mike Sliwas to the show.
[00:04:34] Speaker F: Mike, lots going on. Check out some videos. We'll talk about which ones are available at the moment, some paddle reviews and some interviews we've done with the people of pickleball episodes just starting to look around and what's going on in this game. It's really starting to explode globally. Have past people of Pickleball interviewee Megan Fudge is spending time in China with her family and traveling around being an ambassador for the game. She plays on the app tour and she was just redrafted or entered back into the major league pickleball scene. So she's out there promoting the game in China. She was in India a few months back. And really the game is starting to explode globally. If you look on the senior side, National Pickleball League is doing its six events per year.
They've been in Chicago, they've been in Columbus. I will be there to see them actually at Picklecon in Kansas City, Missouri. They'll be playing their event during Picklecon in the end of the first week in August, which is right around August 8 through 11th. And Picklecon is in Kansas City, so check that out. Hope to see you there. We'll have a media booth stop by and say hey and we'll do a little chat, maybe get a little interview with you if you're in the area. Also, obviously, lots going on. Gen three, paddles, lawsuits, you name it.
The drama continues with a whole bunch of different things. Yola is suing USA pickleball. USA Pickleball is starting to pull paddles from the legality scene and what's legal and what isn't legal because they are becoming too hot, so to speak. And the game is getting faster and faster because the technology keeps changing all the time. So stay tuned for that. And who ends up winning that battle? The PPA, the main big tour out there is actually creating their own organization to certify paddles. So the power struggle of who's going to have that little sticker on to say this paddle is legal has begun. And again, it always comes down to what we always think. It comes down to money. Speaking of which, Ashley Underwood of the movie that I was narrating in, I was the narrator for Dream Breaker, a pickleball story. I interviewed her. So check out that video. It's kind of a little behind the scenes of the process that she went through making this movie over the last two and a half, three years. It's in the process of being sold, should be on a streaming service. Hopefully by the end of the summer. Hopefully. The fall at the latest debuted at the San Francisco Film Festival and got rave reviews from critics and fans alike. And I'm very proud to be associated with the film as I believe it turned out really well. And it kind of shows the birth of professional pickleball and the struggle that is ensuing because obviously those people that are in that, those people that have money and influence trying to control the professional game. But at the end of the day, the amateurs rule the roost. We are the grassroots of pickleball. And here at Sleaze senior Pickleball report, they're all about the amateurs as well as the professionals. So stay tuned for more paddle reviews right now. The latest review I have out is from the shogun, from bread and butter. Great paddle. One of the first paddles to have titanium in the playing face. So that's a new technology that has come to the forefront. So check out that review. Check out my interview with Ashley. Check out my interview with Chuck Stewart.
