[00:06:51] Speaker C: Astronomers are closely watching the trajectory of the newly dubbed Halloween comet C atlas as it heads towards the sun, with concerns mounting about its potential breakup before reaching peak brightness.
Recent observations suggest that the comet has been fragmenting, leading to uncertainty regarding its survival as it nears the sun on October 28. Despite the ongoing fragmentation, there remains hope that the nucleus may endure the solar encounter. The southern hemisphere is in for a celestial treat as comet s. One is set to make its closest approach to Earth on October 23, with the possibility of becoming visible to the naked eye from October 24 to October 28, particularly just before before sunrise as it approaches the sun each morning.
Astronomers are calling this event an all or nothing phenomenon, underscoring the anticipation and suspense surrounding the fate of this potential daylight visible comet.

On a cool Saturday morning in November of 1978, my dad and I embarked on one of our cherished weekend rituals, our trip to Long beach to visit builders Emporium.
As we cruised in his gleaming new truck, our conversations flowed seamlessly, ranging from home projects to my budding anticipation for the upcoming Thanksgiving feast.
At 13, my mind was filled with dreams of turkey stuffing and my mom's signature white cake with pineapple chunks and coconut sprinkles. Little did I know that upon returning home, our world would be irrevocably altered.
The air was heavy with tension as my mother, with a pained expression, delivered tragic news. Maria Parker, a dear family friend, had lost her mother and nephew in the Joestown tragedy.
The Jonestown massacre, now infamous in history, was bewildering to my young mind. The television was no longer a source of Saturday morning cartoons, but instead relayed somber news reports detailing a sorrow far beyond what a child should grasp. Over 900 lives have been claimed by the sinister whims of Jim Jones, and his delusions veiled his revolutionary suicide. This tragic event marked a turning point in my childhood, a stark introduction to the harsh realities of the world. Even beyond the bubble of safety created by family, my parents imparted an enduring lesson to confront rather than shy away from harsh truths, a lesson that remains with me indelibly in recent years. A conversation with my uncle Melvin brought new insight. As he recounted seeing Jim Jims at a Bay Area event, he noted Jones undeniable charisma, which initially concealed his dark motives, emphasizing the enduring danger of blind allegiance of figures who masquerade as saviors. Today, as I watch similar tendencies unfold, I'm haunted by Jonestown's echoes of community lost to the allure of misguided zealotry. Let this memory serve as a cautionary tale.
