[00:00:00] LA Metro has approved nearly $99 million for two major transportation investments. The agency will spend up to $71 million replacing engines in as many as 680 natural gas buses, helping keep the existing fleet reliable as Metro gradually introduces more electric buses. The board also approved $27.6 million for safety improvements at two Antelope Valley line crossings in Sylmar. [00:00:28] New signals, pedestrian gates and roadway barriers will help prevent vehicles and pedestrians from entering the tracks when trains approach. [00:00:36] Construction dates for the crossing improvements have not yet been announced.
